Sharon Beverly possesses that rare combination of highly sought skills of both writer and editor. As a freelance writer and editor, she writes for various websites, professional journals, and publications. Writing under this and other names, she contributes book and restaurant reviews; travel and leisure articles; education columns; and cover stories to a number of periodicals. Sharon's repertoire includes manuscripts of adult non-fiction and children's stories.
Few others have her wide range of abilities. Whether editing books, or doctoral dissertations, or working as a member of a research team, she is a highly talented professional. Sharon recently edited a major research project that was presented at the United Nations and distributed worldwide. She also edited a book that is to be made into a motion picture. Her own work was honored as Nova Southeastern University's Outstanding Educational Improvement Practicum; a national study for the recruitment and retention of minority teachers, which she presented at an annual meeting of the Council of Great City Schools, a consortium of colleges and universities, and to a United States senator. As a ghost writer, Sharon Beverly's work has appeared in Phi Delta Kappa's national educational periodical, The Kappan.
After obtaining four degrees, a multi-decade career as a teacher and school administrator, and a member of task forces, boards, and committees, she retired to pursue her passion; writing.
Sharon possesses a worldly view, having lived on three continents. A frequent traveler, she enjoys being in the mountains and cruising to foreign ports. She lives with her husband in Florida and with various sons who previously flew the coop and occasionally come home to roost, in pursuit of educational and business goals.
